Teaching Tip of the Week - Mapping
Martin Luther King Jr.'s Life |
| |
By: Nelson Campbell, Elementary Teacher
"I usually have students spend a period researching the
life of Doctor King. They then create a U.S. map and plot
stars where the most important six events occurred in
his life. Students also prepare a map key to explain the
importance of each star on the map.
You would think that you would think that you would get
20 of the same map. In reality, students all have a very
different opinion on the top 6 events of his life. This
helps us open it to a discussion."

Jokes You Can Tell in Class
The teacher asked one of her young students if he knew
his numbers.
"Yes," he said. "I do. My father taught me."
"Good. What comes after three."
"Four," answers the boy.
"Very good," says the teacher. "Your dad did a good
job. What comes after ten?"
"A jack," says the little boy.
