  1. Canada's First Nations and Metis Curriculum Units
  2. Canada's First Peoples- "Students examine the representative symbols of flags and make their own national flags for Canada."
  3. Canada's Northwest Rebellion
  4. Canada on Postcards- "Each student will be given a 4x6 index card, on the front of the card they will draw something that they learned and found interesting about Canada. On the back of the postcard they will explain what it is and why they found it interesting."
  5. Canadian Currency- "Students will understand and develop an appreciation for the differences between the currencies of the United States and Canada."
  6. Canadian Province Puzzle- "Students will examine the shapes of each province as well as where it belongs in Canada."
  7. Canada’s Territorial Instincts- "In this lesson, students examine the various peoples of the Canadian provinces and territories and their influences on government, economy, and each other."
  8. Come to Canada! Poster- "Students will examine the positive aspects of Canada (eg. diversity, natural resources, scenery) while they design a poster attracting people to come to Canada (travel or immigrate)."
  9. Hi Neighbor! A Journey through Canada- "Through active participation, learners will develop a global awareness of our neighbor to the north, Canada. Learners will explore the complex nature of the Canadian culture by examining significant historical Canadian events. Spatial sense skills are exposed and extended through various hands-on multi-sensory lessons."

  12. Planning a Canadian Expedition- "Students will examine the physical and climatic characteristics of a physiographic region in Canada through planning an expedition of the area as though they are early explorers (with a present-day knowledge of the geography, though without settlements!)."
  13. Planning a Trip in Canada Using Mileage- "Students will use the mileage charts on a map of Canada to plan a trip that will be possible within a pre-set mileage."
  14. Population Density Poster-map- This lesson plan can be used with our new Population Density Poster-map and the online Population Density, 2001 map.
  15. Three Dimensional Physical Map of the United States and Canada- "Students make a physical map of the United States and Canada. Physical processes that affect the environment and human activity are demonstrated at the conclusion of the lesson."
  16. What is a Canadian/American?- "Your task is to create a collage that reflects both the media’s representation of Canada/Canadians / America/Americans and your own."
  17. Where in the World is......- "I want my students to know if I'm talking about a country or a state in our country. They should see that there is a World, that World has continents, those continents have countries within them, and those countries are divided up into smaller sections, such as states."
