November 5th - Guy Fawkes Day - On November 5, 1605 an attempt was made to blow up the House of Parliament and King James I. Guy Fawkes day is a day celebrated by the British as Thanksgiving.

November 7th - Marie Curie's Birthday - Marie was born on November 7, 1867. Both Marie and her husband Pierre won the Nobel prize for discovering physics.

November 8th - Montana becomes a State - Montana was admitted to the union on November 8, 1889, making it the 41st state.

November 8th - X-Ray Discovered - On November 8, 1859, a man named Wilhelm Conrad Rontgen discovered the x-ray, which has been an important part of the medical field ever since.

November 9th - Sesame Street Premieres - On November 9, 1969 the popular TV show for children, "Sesame Street," aired it's first episode. It was a huge hit with kids and parents.

November 11th - World War One Ends - On November 11, 1918 and end finally came to World War One. The central powers and their allies signed an armistice agreement ending the war.

November 12th - Elizabeth Cady Stanton - Elizabeth was born on November 12, 1815. She was an advocate and suffragist for women's rights.

November 16th - Oklahoma becomes a State - On November 16, 1907 Oklahoma was admitted to the union and became the 46th state.

November 19th - The Gettysburg Address - On November 19, 1863 President Lincoln gave a speech while standing on the Civil War battlefield in Gettysburg, PA.

November 22nd - John F. Kennedy Assassinated - On November 22, 1963, America lost a great man and president. President Kennedy was shot and killed while riding in a convertible with the presidential motorcade. Lee Harvey Oswald shot and killed him in Dallas, Texas.

November 23rd - Franklin Pierce's Birthday - Franklin Pierce was born on November 23, 1804. He was the United States 14th president.

November 25th - JFK's Funeral - On November 25, 1963 over 800,000 people showed up in Washington D.C. to mourn the assassinated president John F. Kennedy. He was buried in Arlington Cemetery in Virginia with a 21 gun salute.

November 25th - Thanksgiving Day - Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.

November 27th - Anders Celsius's Birthday - Anders was an astronomer from Sweden he is well know for his centigrade temperature scale now known as the Celsius Scale. He was born on November 27, 1701.

November 29th - Louisa May Alcott's Birthday - She was born on November 29, 1832. She best known for her book "Little Women" a classic!

November 30th - Mark Twain's Birthday - The author of the classic book " The Adventures of Tom Sawyer " was born on November 30, 1835.
